Grendel XI

Grendel XI, for lack of a better name, was very spontaneous. I was bored at work and sketching out different poses for female warrior ladies. This one just hapenned to look like a Grendel. So yup.

From the Archives: X-23

I love x23 it just sucks that she's never had any real costume; they all kinda come and go. For this one I was trying to keep her mid drift thing shes always got going on, yet make her costume streamlined and functional for the assassin she's supposed to be, as well as give her costume a nod to her "dear old pops".

Starfire

Ah... Starfire. Original Costume? So many jokes so little time. New and worse costume? Don't get me started. I was just trying to do something that wouldn't have wardrobe malfunctions popping out in the... heat... ahem of battle... thanks to Alex at superheroofthemonth.com for posting this one up as well...

Justice at Last!

The last one in the Luchador set, this is a character just got featured in superheroofhemonth.com and came from one of the best stories ever written, Watchmen.  From the minds of the great Moore and Gibbons team, and redesgned by moi for your viewing indifference, I give you: THE HOODED JUSTICE!

La Mole!!!

A mug only a mother could love... The Blue-Eyed-Ever-Loving-Thing.

Tom Ball & the Blues

Stuck in the wall of one of Santa Inez Valley's many cliff's, lies the most amazing tavern I've been in. Cold Spring Tavern is a historical landmark dating from the old wild west. It is there that every Saturday, Tom Ball and his magical harmonica plays the blues...

From the Archives: The Masked Claw

Now that I am in a Luchador tangeant... here's my version of one of the many incarnations of "The Lobster", a character in Mike Mignola's Lobster Johnson. Mignola= genius. Nuff said...

Sonambulo!

This is Rafael Navarro's Sonambulo. I've always like Luchadores. And Film Noir. Imagine a film Noir Luchador who kicks supernatural ass a la B.P.R.D.! I thought it was genius. Plus I got to meet Rafael at one of the coolest movie experiences. Awesome guy.

From the Archives: Martian Hunter

Martian Manhunter redesign. This one I had been playing with for a long time, but I decided to finish it and enter it into the Project Rooftop: Heroes in Need call for entries. I was trying to keep the funky suspender things and the red/blue color scheme and yet make the suit more.. spacey...? http://www.tencentticker.com/projectrooftop/

SotM: Gorilla Grodd

New Superhero of the month entry!!! This time is Gorilla Grodd from the DC Universe. I was reading on Grodd, and he gets high intelligence, telepathic abilities, and ultra tech from aliens... Thats right aliens. Anyhoo, everytime I think of aliens and space, I think of Kirby, so I decided to run with that theme. Also, I can never tell Grodd from any other gorilla, so I thought I'd solve that by making him silver. Its been a while since I"ve sent in an entry to http://www.superheroofthemonth.com/. I hope yall dig. I had a lot of fun drawing him.

From the Archives: Harley Quinn

Superhero of the Month entry. Really liked the outcome on this one. More modern take on Harley; rich, and crazy Psychiatrist chick trying to impress her madman patient.

Daily Sketch: Ottis

This is my homie and coworker Ottis. Quick sketch while in a work meeting. Strangely enough, I find it easier to pay atention to people talking at seven in the morning if I'm doodling.

From the Archives: B.P.R.D.

The B.P.R.D. is probably one of my favorite books and teams of all time. Created by the genius of Mike Mignola, Hellboy reminds me that there is no such thing as destiny; God gives us all the power of choice. Who we are, where we are at and where we end up, are all a result of the choices we make everyday....
From top: Hellboy, Lobster Johnson, Roger the Homunculus, Liz Sherman, Abe Sapien.

Red Death Rendered

Well, just as promised. The full color pic of Red Death. Gattica is the second largest kingdom of the Allied Thrones, in its heart lies the Da Castilla Castle, home to the one of the wealthiest families in The Domains. Still, few criminals dare make their stay a lenghty one; for this city is said to eat criminals alive. Some of the best of the worst have tried to come away with the famed Da Castilla riches, alas, only a few have returned, and none coherent enough to speak again. It is almost as if they had seen death itself...

The Red Death

This are the inks for the first character in a concept story I am working on. He's Batman's counterpart in a dark ages story set in what may or may not be the DC Universe. Ala Marvel's 1602; Just for fun and all.. More on the story and character bios on the next post....
And a good Year to all. My name is Omar I Landeros, I am an artist. I am starting this Blog in order to get my art out there and hopefully find my place in this world; I hope this space can be put to good use by giving me a faucet out of which ideas and work can freely flow. This being my first post, I wanted to thank God for the opportunity to live another year, and the will he's given me to come out of this art/life slump. Last but definitely not least, I want to dedicate this blog to my beautiful, loving and patient wife who has stuck with me thru all this time, and who makes me want to be a better person... I love you.
